The play scripted by Alabama playwright Bob Baker, begins in 1967 and follows a young Virginia Wynette Pugh from her first appearance on the Country Boy Eddie Show, her move to Nashville, and creation of the “Tammy Wynette” persona. Narrated from Donna Chapel’s point of view, beginning at age 14, when her father, Don Chapel, was married to Tammy. Donna sang harmony and appeared on early tours with Tammy. The show features the music of Tammy Wynette and some of her duets with George Jones.
