Ann Stewart and The Banjo Buddies Dixieland Show Band, based in the Chicagoland area, is one of the most unique and exciting musical attractions around today. Don’t let their name fool you. This is not a “banjo band” as their name might imply. This is a high-energy Dixieland show band.
Often referred to as the Diva of Dixieland, leader Ann Stewart is featured on jazz banjo and is known for her sultry vocal style. Her energy and enthusiasm fuels the exclusive arrangements performed by the group which includes the dynamic and powerful horns of Tim Stewart on trombone and Al Ramsey on trumpet, and the driving rhythm section of the talented and versatile Verne Rind on drums and vocals and Mike Zudis on bass.
This group has been performing throughout the country with their unique style of Dixieland entertainment for over three decades. They are unique because they approach this style of music with a contemporary feel that appeals to all ages. Their style is fun and quite eclectic playing everything from exciting Dixieland jazz to swing, blues, big band tunes, novelty tunes and much more from the 20′s through the 40′s and touching the 50′s presented in an entertaining fashion with vocals, humor and audience interaction.
The Illinois Festival Association named them “entertainers of the year” and they have recorded eight albums. So be sure and catch our opening season act with Ann Stewart and The Banjo Buddies Dixieland Show Band!
